100 million Riyal for damaged streets repairs

Jeddah Municipality evaluated the asphalt repairs for city streets which were damaged by the last torrents 100 million Riyal. The Municipality started the asphalt works in all sub-municipalities. It distributed 24 asphalt teams as 2 teams for each municipality. It's supposed to end emergency works for streets during 2 weeks.
The Media Center of Jeddah Municipality declared that emergency circumstances (heavy rains in Jeddah (on Wednesday 22-2-a432 a.h.) lead to collapses, holes and asphalt falling down as a result of the wrong execution of service corporations and companies. The Media Center referred that considering the municipality's liability to keep the road habitues safe and repair it. Project Coordination Bureau, Road Department and Sub-municipalities agreed that the Bureau would limit all collapses, falling downs and holes occurred in Jeddah streets and the reasons.
They stated that those collapses, falling downs and holes are authorized by technical report supported by pictures prepared by consultants office following the Project Coordination Bureau; this report is submitted to the concerned bodies calling the responsible companies to accounting.
They explained that processing are made through contracts of asphalt patching for north and south streets, main roads and recent falling downs. Then the technical reports and work orders issued by General Department are submitted to save time.
The Media Center stated that there are urgent budgets for these projects with a raise 10% according to the laws, since the city passes an emergency situation and the damage of roads and streets were huge considering that all project contractors are confirmed in cooperation with Project Coordination Bureau until the emergency is over according to the known steps. The working teams are raised to be 5 teams for each project in order to accomplish it urgently. The Project Coordination Bureau are supported by a number of employees from the General Department to follow-up the asphalt repairing. They assured that the campaign all over the city aims at repairing streets and roads which damaged by the torrents and rains which caused many holes and falling downs that block traffic. They indicate that work plan includes insurance of asphalt teams for each sub-municipality under the supervision of the concerned municipality which determines the priorities (the most damaged roads and need to repair). Moreover, each municipality is supported by 2 teams to accomplish asphalt works and holes patching.

The Media Center stated that as for Briman Municipality area, 24 streets need asphalt works: in Al Samer 5 District (Street 4 and Waheib Bin Omar Street), in Al Samer 4 (Al Samer Street opposed Al Ahli Bank beside Rafa Clinic in Al Dereis Station Crossroad), in Al Ajwad 2 (Um Mo'eid Street no. 4, Besheir Bin Mas'oud Street no. 14 and Khair Eddin Street no. 13), in Al Manar 2 (Shams Uddin Street no. 58), in Al Manar 5 (Umair Bin Al Waleed Street no. 7 and Salma Bin Aiyad Street no. 11), in Al Manar 3 (Main Manar Street opposed villas complex, Alma Bin Said Street no. 44, Na'iem Bin Abdallah Street no. 43, Mohiy Eddin Al Makky Street no. 6, parallel street to highway opposed Hafel, and descending street from Briman Bridge), in Al Manar 4 (Abdul Malek Bin Al Moghira Street opposed Rose Hall) and in Al Samer 3 (Al Sa'da' Mosque Street, Al Sa'da' Street and Naseer Bin Al Hareth Street no. 12).
As for Al Aziziyah Municipality, 14 streets need asphalt works or repairs including Al Madina Road streets, Palestine and Prince Mohamed (Al Tahliya), Ali Murtada, Bani Malek, Hamad Al Jaser, King Fahd, Al Tadamun Al Arabi, Ghurnata, Dalla, Al Mo'allafein, Al Makarona, Mohamed Bin Gabeir, Prince Majed and Prince Mot'ab.
As for Om Al Salm 7 Municiplaity, 7 streets need repairs and asphalt works: entire Al Nakhil District separating Al Gami'yeen Mokhatat, Om Al Khair, Al Mosa'ed District East, Jack Street, Mareekh District Main Road, Al Salimiya District entrance and K14 Thalatheen Street Al Harazat Entrance.
