Zabary : Gulf countries have 50% of the international power of purification and do not have the required technologies . Purification technologies add additional loads to the gulf budgets.
An specialist in the affairs of water and power emphasized that Gulf Cooperation Council Countries do not have the purification technologies in spite of owning more than fifty percent (50%) of the international power of the international purification, as this technology remain imported to it, the matter that does not serve the gulf economy which make these purification technologies as a huge burden on the general budget and also consuming it. Doctor Waleed Zabary, Dean of the High Studies College in Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, said that the power sector that related to the purification is consuming an average value more than fifty five percent (55%) of the total power in Gulf Cooperation Council Countries which consume the power sources in the council countries. Doctor Zabary had participated in the seminar held by the Jordanian University in cooperation with German Colon University of applicable sciences with the title of "water and power" with a paper titles "the sustainable management of the municipal water in the council countries.. and the dualism of power and water", in which he said: "in addition to the environmental affects accompanies with that, so we recommend with the necessity of the integration of planning the power with municipal water because of that strong dualism between them, and the necessity to be directed to the manage the order and rationalization in both sectors because of their close connection (electricity and water), and to connect together the taken steps in both sectors, and make deep studies about the connection between them in the field of water management in the council countries ". Doctor Zabary explained the identification of the sources of municipal water supplement in the council countries, and the reasons behind its great increment, referring its most important reasons to the popularity rapid growth, and the prevailed style of consumption, and the high percentage of waste water, in addition to following a style of increasing the water resources by establishing the purification stations, without looking in the side of managing the order and rationalization.
