Qatari Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohmoud Al-Geida, 52, has confessed to Doha's support for the Muslim Brotherhood in the UAE as well as to fugitives fleeing justice, with the aim of destabilizing the emirate. Last Saturday, the Emirate Channel broadcast Al-Geida's confessions with regard to the Qatari conspiracies targeting the Gulf states, particularly the UAE. Al-Geida, often known as the Muslim Brotherhood "broker" was in charge of the funds of the shady organization's members based in the UAE. He was also a member of the terrorist group's so-called Gulf Coordination Bureau. Al-Geida oversaw the collection of funds from countries and bodies supporting the organization. He was also entrusted with the task of communicating with the terror group's members fleeing to Turkey and other countries. He supervised a number of meetings of its members in the UAE. In his confession, Al-Geida talked about the structure of the organization. "There was a council led by Gassem Sultan, followed by the Leaders Council comprising 30 people. Groups were categorized according to their specialties – doctors in one group, Ministry of Education employees in another, Ministry of Energy employees in yet another, and so on. They held several meetings and pledged to work together. Top of the structure was the executive bureau and the consultative councils. In a startling revelation, he said that the Brotherhood members have taken over the Qatari Ministry of Endowments and are extremely active during Ramadan. Al-Gaeda added, "A group was put together for management of the organization. Issa Al-Ansary was in charge and Mohammad Thany Sobei'ie was the assistant. Then there were Nasser Mohammad Issa, Ibrahim Al-Ibrajhim, Abdel-Hamied Mahmoud, Khamis Al-Mahendy, and I." Qatar opened its doors to several fugitives from the UAE. One of them was the convict, Khaled Al-Sheiba, who led the Brotherhood's Gulf Coordination Bureau. Al-Geida had connections with Hakem Al-Moteiry, the Kuwaiti chairman of the so-called the Umma Conference that includes Muslim Brotherhood elements in Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia. Al-Moteiry attended meetings of the terrorist organization in Istanbul. He was the member of the Gulf Coordination Bureau and was involved in funding terrorist operations in Syria, Yemen and Libya. Qatar recruited young Gulf citizens for terror-related activities. The aim was to deflect blame for such activities and instead have it pinned on the original countries to which the terrorists belonged. There was a time when the Brotherhood's UAE branch was going through a crisis. At that time, a meeting was held in Qatar under the sponsorship of the UAE-based Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohammad Saqr Al-Zo'aby. Kuwaiti, Qatari and UAE Muslim Brotherhood figures attended the meeting. Its primary goal was to support the Brotherhood's UAE branch. Al-Geida then went to Sharjah to hand over funds to the organization. "There, I went to a book fair where I received money from an anonymous person. The money was to be handed over to one Mohammad Saqr who was in touch with Umma Conference Chairman Hakem Al-Moteiry." To support the Brotherhood, a fatwa was issued in Ramadan stating that it was legitimate to offer alms to Brotherhood members from the UAE. These funds were collected in Qatar under the overall control of the Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Society and the Raf Society. They were especially active during Ramadan, and had influence over the Ministry of Endowments. Commenting on the confession, Abu Dhabi Media Company General Director Dr. Ali Bin Tamim tweeted, "Al-Geida's confessions have exposed the fact that Qatar tried to create a unified regional entity for the Muslim Brotherhood with the intention of spreading chaos and instigating terrorist acts in the region. He added, "Al-Geida's confessions reveal the misuse of Islam to meet political ends, particularly so when he speaks of the Ramadan fatwa to collect funds for the Brotherhood's UAE faction. Qatar not only secretly supported terrorism as it always did, but also openly hosted meetings of the Brotherhood. And it lives in a constant state of denial, projecting itself as a champion of peace. The ongoing boycott of the country was thus essential to cut off the trail of terror let loose by the Hamads over the past decades."
