Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad said that Hajj is one of pillars of Islam which being provided with great concern by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its establishment and exerts all its effort to get it successful where it has proven throughout history its success in providing services to the pilgrims. Dr. Al-Awad said in a speech during a meeting of the information ministers of the four anti-terrorism countries here today that the politicization of Hajj rituals is a political decline through which the state of Qatar seeks to mix the papers and exploit this great ritual for narrow political objectives, adding that, in modern history, the only attempt that has been carried out to politicize Hajj before Qatar done by Iran. He stressed that the Qatari people are welcomed this year as every year, pointing out that several corridors have been opened for Qatari pilgrims and all their needs have been provided to perform their rituals comfortably and safely. He said that the Qatari people who wish to perform Hajj should not believe false propaganda about preventing them from performing Hajj, where the Kingdom, as usual, welcomes all Muslims from everywhere and works to facilitate the performance of their rituals with ease and tranquility. Regarding the meeting of ministers of information in the anti-terrorism countries that held earlier today in Jeddah, the Minister of Culture and Information pointed out that this meeting is an extension of the previous meeting held in Cairo aimed at enhancing joint work to discuss media issues concerned to anti-terrorism countries and coordinating positions against the Qatari biased media campaigns supporting violence and extremism and spreading hate speech.
