The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has renewed its warning against compelling laborers to work under the hot sun from 12 noon to 3 pm. The Kingdom, which is currently witnessing a heat wave, bans midday work from June 15 to September 15 every year. The Ministry spokesman, Khalid Aba Al-Khail, said: "Failure to comply with the decision will subject the violating establishment to penalties and fines." The ban comes within the framework of the Ministry's concern for the safety and health of private sector workers. It is committed to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, in line with occupational safety and health considerations. Aba Al-Khail called on employers to organize their working hours to comply with the directive. He pointed out that the Ministry was putting every effort to ensure a safe working environment and reduce the risk of injuries and occupational diseases. He pointed out that the ban was not applicable to some regions of Saudi Arabia because the temperatures there are not as high. Aba Al-Khail urged anyone who comes across any violation to contact customer service 19911, or report it on the "Together Monitoring" portal.
