The Ministry of Labor has made it mandatory for domestic workers to maintain bank accounts to protect their financial rights, establish contractual relationship with employers, and ensure timely payment of salaries. The official spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Khalid Aba Al-Khail, said that a new project launched by the ministry in this regard aims at preserving the rights of the both contracted parties, improving the working conditions for domestic workers, raising the level of job security for them, and strengthening their rights. He pointed out that the project will require the employer to document the employment contract electronically through the website of the Home Employment Program (Masanid), determine the monthly wage of the worker, and then open a bank account for domestic helper. Authentication of employment contracts will also be through the Masanid portal, www.musaned.gov.sa. Abha Al-Khail renewed his call to all beneficiaries of the ministry's services to report any irregularities or problems faced by them regarding domestic workers through the official channels of communications, such as submitting an electronic complaint through Masanid or the Customer Service Call Center, 19911.
