Despite Iran's desperate media campaigns in the US and Europe, and its intense lobbying among influential bodies, political analysts, and journalists, the world has realized that Tehran itself is the principle source of terror. However, certain media circles have failed to understand the changes that have taken place in the region over the past two years along with the reshaping of the balance of powers worldwide. The Iranian campaigns are based on a two-pronged approach: deny all accusations of terrorism against it, and pin all the blame of Saudi Arabia. Consequently, the Iranian propaganda has turned into an oft-repeated, broken record – of Wahhabism, Bin Laden, suicide bombers... With the Iranians having lost ammunition to take their case forward, they have rendered themselves a nervous wreck, running amok with a bagful of deceit and falsehoods. The Western media outlets do not have to look far to remind the public of Iranian acts of terror, many against Western interests, not to speak about the atrocities against Iranians themselves. Those who recall the bombing of the US Embassy in Lebanon in 1983, leaving scores dead mostly Americans and French nationals, will see the Iranian hand through its allies, the Islamic Jihad movement, Then there is the bombing of a Jewish cultural center in Buenos Aires in 1994, besides the plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US, and the assassination of Saudi diplomats abroad. The crimes committed by the Iranian regime against Saudi and other Arab targets are just too many to list out. And the trend continues as a new crime is committed almost every day by Iran and its agents in Iraq, Syria and Yemen, or by its misinformed followers in Saudi Arabia or Bahrain. We only hope the Western media sees where the actual fault lines lie and understand clearly who the real perpetrators of terror are.
