THE Persians are historically known for their cunning, intrigue and deceit. However, the wiliness of Tehran's incumbent rulers has surpassed everything in the past. They have sharpened their knives to stab the Kingdom and launch a ferocious campaign against it following the recent Mina stampede. Tehran lost no time in attacking the Kingdom and the language it used in doing so was provocative to the Muslims, their countries and leaders who have no doubt in the Kingdom's dedication and sincerity in serving the pilgrims. Muslims all over the world have witnessed the Kingdom's sincerity of purpose over several decades. They all know that the Kingdom never leaves any stone unturned in providing the best of services to the pilgrims. Even the Turkish president, the grandchild of the Ottoman dynasty, who is known for his openness and courage, has denounced Iran's tirade against the Kingdom. He has expressed complete confidence in the Kingdom's consummate services to the guests of God. Everybody is now quite sure that Iran's attitude is a dirty political game to blackmail the servants of Islam's holiest sites of Makkah and Madinah. Unfounded attacks will definitely ricochet if Iran continues its chicanery against Saudi Arabia. Muslim masses and leaders are quite aware that this is nothing other than settling of political accounts. Therefore they are not willing to accept Iran's dubious machinations. Iran's belief that by such an attitude it will be exerting pressure on Riyadh is totally baseless and unfounded. Iran should realize that its vicious propaganda against the Kingdom will only augment the support of world Muslims to its leaders. The more Iranian attacks become ferocious and morbid, the more will be the sympathy of Muslims with the Kingdom and not against it.
