US President Donald Trump praised his visit to Saudi Arabia and described the Riyadh summit, which brought him together with leaders of the Muslim world, as historic. Speaking to reporters in Sicily, Trump said, "My first visit led me to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where I participated in a summit with more than 50 leaders of the Muslim world, hosted by King Salman, a wise leader who expressed a strong determination to work with the United States to combat terrorism." He added, "At the Riyadh summit, the leaders pledged to fight extremism, and we set up a strategy to cut off funding for terrorist organizations. We stressed the importance of isolating the Iranian regime, which is undermining peace and stability in the region, and ensuring that it does not obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances."
