The Jizan Border Guards have foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish and narcotic pills into the Kingdom through the sea. The electronic surveillance systems spotted a boat with two men as it tried to cross the marine borders in the Farasan islands area. The two men, both Yemenis, were arrested. A search of the boat revealed 154,700 kgs of hashish and 113,621 Captagon tablets. The spokesman for the Border Guards, Colonel Saher Al-Harbi, stressed that the force would remain the first line of defense against all attempts to undermine the Kingdom's peace and security and to destroy its youth. He said the Border Guards would deal firmly with any attempt to illegally infiltrate the Kingdom's borders.
