Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, visited today, during his visit to the Republic of South Africa, Dar Al-Uloom Islamic University in Johannesburg where he was received by the Director of the university, Sheikh Shubair Ahmed Al-Salouji, a number of university officials and faculty members. Sheikh Al-Salouji welcomed Dr. Al-Issa in a speech and praised the great global role of the Muslim World League in serving many important Islamic issues, such as showing the real values of Islam and the bad effects of terrorism and extremism. He added that this role of MWL is an extension to the international leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in general, and in the Islamic world in specific. Dr. Al-Issa thanked in appreciation Sheikh Al-Salouji for his great receiving and pointed out that the Muslim World League is pleased to cooperate with Dar Al-Uloom Islamic University in Johannesburg and communicate with its officials in many fields that serve Islam and Muslims. Secretary General, Sheikh Muhammad, visited also the Association of Scholars at its headquarters in Johannesburg and met with its president and members. During the visit a number of common interest topics were discussed, especially the Association's desire to communicate continuously with the Muslim World League. Dr. Bakri Assas, the Director of Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukaramah In that context, Dr. Bakri Assas, the Director of Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukaramah, valued the significant role of the Muslim World League in serving Islamic important issues. Dr. Assas praised also the huge efforts in the conference "Ideological Trends between Freedom of Speech and Rules of Sharia", which was organized by MWL under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and held in Makkah last week. Dr. Bakri said that the outcomes of this conference, which were noted in the closing recommendation statement, shows how the importance of such an international gathering is very important to highlight the real values of Islam. He added that living in coexistence, tolerance and moderation is what Islam calls for to protect the youth from the dangers of extremism and terrorism.
