The Taif police have arrested five people who posed as security men to rob foreigners at gunpoint. Makkah Region Police spokesman Col. Atti Al-Qurashi said the Taif police had received several complaints from foreigners of being robbed at gunpoint by persons claiming to be security men. Al-Qurashi said a trap was set and all human and technical resources were mobilized to track down the suspects, leading to the arrest of the five men. Stolen goods and weapons were found at their hideout. On interrogation the suspects confessed to seven robberies they had committed after forming the gang.
