Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa announced here yesterday naming a main road crossing Al-Jafeer district of Manama, Bahrain, after late Prince Saud Al-Faisal upon directives of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain in the attendance of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region; and Prince Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Board of Directors of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, a number of Bahraini ministers and senior officials, deputies, members of diplomatic corps accredited to Bahrain and media representatives. After having unveiled a curtain on which a main road in Bahrain was named after late Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Crown Prince gave an account on the great deeds and noble positions of Prince Saud Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people. He said the Bahrainis would continue to remember Prince Saud Al-Faisal forever. By this, Bahrain would like to pay tribute to the deceased courage in defending it over 40 years of distinguished and unprecedented diplomacy, the Prime Minister said. He also paid tribute to Saudi Arabia's positions, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in support of Bahrain, confirming that such positions have permanently reflected the ties of close fraternity and joint destiny shared by the two countries over history. He recalled the noble positions of the Kingdom in support of Bahrain and defense of its case at different platforms, noting the appreciation of the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the genuine positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also lauded the job done by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the service of Arab and Islamic causes. For his part, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Premier of Bahrain, expressed gratitude of opening a key street in the capital, Manama, carrying the name of late Prince Saud Al-Faisal in recognition of his role in enhancing fraternal ties binding the two kingdoms and their peoples. He said the street would always remind us of a man who spared no effort to defend our country, describing the move as an expression of love of Bahrain's king, government and people for the prince. Given the podium, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister of Bahrain, said naming an important traffic passage in Manama after late Prince Saud Al-Faisal reflects the loyalty of the country's king, government and people to Prince Saud Al-Faisal. He said Prince Saud Al-Faisal toured the world over four decades in defense of Bahrain and other Arab and Islamic nations causes. For his part, the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning of Bahrain Eng. Isam bin Abdullah Khalaf said the event is an honor of the diplomatic literature authored by the prince to the Arab and Islamic nations' generations. Earlier, the Prime Minister of Bahrain received Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and Prince Turki Al-Faisal to mark their visit to Bahrain. During the audience, he praised the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, towards Bahrain and its people, confirming that Saudi Arabia is the Arab and Islamic nation's staunch pillar which defends the right, justice, dignity and sovereignty of the nation. During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation between the two countries in all fields. For his part, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal said the honor offered to Prince Saud Al-Faisal who was devoted to supporting Arab and Islamic causes, is not a strange event as Bahrain and its people are well known of their noble deeds and positions. Later, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, held a banquet in honor of the visiting Faisals. The function was attended by a number of elite invitees.
