The Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Samaan confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, which Allah Almighty honored with the service of the Two Holy Mosques has taken upon itself the responsibility of serving pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet's Holy Mosque and taking the necessary measures for their safety and comfort. This came during the meetings of the session 133rd of the General Assembly of International Parliament Union (IPU) currently being held in Geneva in response to what the head of the Iranian parliamentary delegation said in his speech in the meetings about the stampede incident in Mina during the last Hajj season. Dr Al-Samaan said that during the past ten years, no events were registered concerning the organization of Hajj in spite of the difficulties arising from the presence of a large number of pilgrims exceeding two million people who perform Hajj rituals in a small spatial area at a specific time. He expressed the Kingdom's sympathy with the families of the victims of dead pilgrims in Mina stampede incident, pointing out that the Committee ordered to be formed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to investigate into the causes of the incident is working to uncover the reasons for that tragic incident, which did not downplay the huge efforts made by the Kingdom to serve pilgrims. The Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia refuses intervention in its internal affairs because this is a violation of international law, as it denounces Iran's politicization of this tragic incident, trading with the pain of the victims, and exploiting the incident to serve political objectives in a manner not taking into account the sanctity of religious rites and the feelings of the victims' families. He pointed out that everyone knows the size of the Kingdom's responsibility and its efforts which are appreciated by many Islamic countries and Muslims. Dr Al-Samaan also added that the Iranian position comes to cover its failure in intervention in Yemen and other countries in the region, stressing that the attempt of the Iranian regime to exploit Mina incident politically is an extension of its historical record in harming pilgrims, causing chaos in Hajj and disturbing the sacred atmosphere of Hajj season. He said Iran is the only State that committed crimes and tried to make chaos in Hajj seasons, and the events of the eighties are still present in the Islamic world memory, even if Iran tried to forget or be forgotten them, noting that after the Kingdom has succeeded in preventing Iran from causing chaos in the Hajj season, it will not accept its exploitation of the tragedy happened during the Hajj season.
