Ayoon Wa Azan (It Will Be Great Again Once They Are Punished)
Published in AL HAYAT on 10 - 01 - 2010

A U.S judge has cleared 17 gunmen from the Blackwater private security firm of the charges they were facing of killing 17 Iraqi civilians, an incident to which there are live witnesses. This is justice the American way. Yet, the acquittal of these bodyguards is of less consequence when weighed against the continuing exoneration of those who committed the original crime against Iraq, and against the Arabs and the Muslims everywhere, without ever being placed in the dock, but who are rather freely continuing their bid to commit further crimes.
Personally, I consider George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Tony Blair in Britain to be war criminals. But I am not alone in voicing this accusation, as there are many Americans and Britons of the highest political and intellectual calibre, who too are calling for what I am calling for. Moreover, there are also those instigators among the Likudniks and in the Israel lobby, who facilitated the crime, and who falsified the premises for the war by fabricating some information while suppressing other information. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan were subsequently killed. In fact, these killings are still ongoing, while these individuals mentioned above are still calling for more wars.
If we lived in a previous era, those criminals would have been crucified and hanged on the gates of Baghdad. However, we now live in the age of American democracy. Personally, all I am demanding here is that the criminals be tried, without demanding their foul heads.
There is sufficient evidence to convene a court and try them. In fact, the Likudniks often provide new evidence by which they indict themselves, as they betray what is in their minds on their famous websites and publications, including the Weekly Standard, the National Review and Commentary, and also in some major newspapers that lend their pages to famous Likudnik figures, such as the Washington Post, the New York Times and the op-ed section of the Wall Street Journal, the latter being almost entirely Likudnik in its inclinations.
If we go back to 1996, we find that William Kristol and Robert Kagan, from the very same gang of evil, drafted a study about a new Reagan-like foreign policy that requires a massive increase in the defence budget. This was immediately endorsed by the Likudnik Charles Krauthammer (who recently celebrated his 25th year of spreading his venoms in the Washington Post, which is only liberal in issues that do not involve Arabs and Muslims). Krauthammer had hailed Kristol and Kagan as “the main proponents of American greatness”.
America was indeed great until these Israeli-aligned Likudniks became the country's decision makers. Moreover, it will only be great again once they are punished and imprisoned for the crimes they have committed.
Recently, Krauthammer wrote an article in the Weekly Standard in which he overlooked America's tarnished reputation, the collapse of its economy, and the death of its youths, and claimed that the United States is not on the retreat while insisting on the policy of (American) unipolarity in running the world's affairs, in spite of all the destruction that happened, and the destruction that is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the other Likudnik figure David Brooks has a website that promotes the same destructive policy that was partly adopted by the Bush administration. Hence, Brooks apparently wants an open war. While terrorism is an easy and clear target, what Brooks is calling for is a war against Arabs and Muslims in all countries, all in the service of Israel. I thus recently noticed that he started attacking the proponents of the so-called Tea Party, which is a group of Americans who started out last February as opponents of Barack Obama's policies, but who ended being opponents of U.S military intervention abroad because of its high costs, and given the present sharp financial crisis. Brooks hence deemed them to be isolationists, and accused them of treason and sometimes of anti-Semitism.
Brooks is Canadian. However, he neither a Canadian nor an American in reality, but is rather an Israeli-aligned Likudnik first and foremost. Five thousand young Americans were killed in the wars that he has supported, and he still wants more of these youths to be killed.
Perhaps the best example of this old and ongoing Likudnik policy is the letter they sent in September 2001 to President Bush, only a few days after the infamous terrorist attacks. Not only did they try to call for revenge against Al-Qaeda's terrorists, but they also incited against the countries of the region as part of a purely Israeli policy cast in lies.
They thus called for a war against the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, and a war against Iraq, even when the latter did not have any direct involvement in the terrorist attacks of 11/9/2001, and to create safe zones for the opposition inside Iraq. Then they falsely alleged that Hezbollah was involved in the attacks on two U.S embassies in East Africa, and that the party is an adversary of America's allies, i.e. Israel. They also called for applying pressure on Iran and Syria to cease their support for the “terrorist” organizations of Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, although it is Israel that is a terrorist fascist and Nazi state, and of which these individuals are an integral part. According to their demands, Iran and Syria must be punished if they refused to comply. I have the letter here in front of me; it bears the signature of 41 men and women, 90 percent of whom are Jews, although Jewish Americans do not constitute more than 2 percent of the American population.
This criminal policy led to the death of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Muslim, not to mention the destruction of entire countries on top of their inhabitants. Yet, the Likudniks are calling for more similar wars, all because they never stood trial for their original crime. For this reason, bringing them to court is extremely necessary because of the sheer magnitude of the crime, and to prevent its recurrence in the future. I shall continue tomorrow.
