White House: President Obama Will Not Attend APEC Summit

The White House said Monday that President Barack Obama will not be attending the APEC summit in Russia in September.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One that Obama would not be attending the summit. The announcement came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin said he would not be attending the G8 summit this week at the U.S. presidential retreat at Camp David so he can finalize his cabinet.
