An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted Ruoqiang County in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 9:34 a.m. Saturday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The epicenter, with a depth of 6 km, was monitored at about 38.3 degrees north latitude and 89.5 degrees east longitude, Xinhua quoted the center as saying in a statement.
