The Vice-Chancellor of the Republic of Austria and Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Dr. Michael Spindelegger and the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia opened here yesterday Saudi-Austrian Forum, organized by the Ministries of Culture and Information and Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of relations between the Kingdom and the Republic of Austria. The ceremony was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Khalid, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Information and Technology Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, Prince Mansour bin Khalid, Saudi Ambassador to Austria; and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salamah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for Foreign Information. Addressing the ceremony, the Saudi Ambassador commended distinguished and strong relations between the Kingdom and Austria over 55 years in political, economic and cultural fields. During the last ten years, he said Saudi-Austrian relations have achieved big strides after the signing of several bilateral agreements and the exchanges of official visits at the level of the leaders and senior officials of the two friendly countries. "The most important and prominent among these visits were the official visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Austria in the year 2004, and the visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer to the Kingdom in 2006," he noted. --More
