U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit India and Bangladesh next month after meetings in China as the United States attempts to improve ties in South Asia, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that Clinton will visit Bangladesh on May 5 and will stop in Kolkata and New Delhi "to review progress in the strategic partnership" with India. Prior to those visits, Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will meet in China on May 3 and May 4 for the Strategic and Economic Dialogue, the most prominent forum for managing relations between the world's two largest economies. The talks are expected to cover issues from the United States' concerns over China's trade practices to the crises in North Korea and Sudan.
