Mua'llemi said that despite the issuance of Security Council resolutions No. 2042 and No. 2043 on deployment of a mission of international observers to monitor developments in the implementation of the initiative of United Nations and Arab League Joint Envoy for Syria Kofi Annan, and despite the emphasis on full support for Annan's efforts, the Syrian regime is still engaging in violence against its people, using heavy machineries in bombing residential neighborhoods, villages, and complexes of citizens, and going on in their detentions rather than releasing detainees according to its commitments, indicating that the Syrian regime is not fulfilling its commitments made to Kofi Annan. He called on the Security Council not to allow the Syrian regime to exercise its attempts of procrastination and evasion of obligations as it has done with Arab initiatives and it should not grant the regime one period after another at the expense of Syrian lives.
