The Arab League today welcomed the UN Security Council resolution No. 2042 to send observers to Syria to monitor the ceasefire. In a statement, Arab League's Deputy Secretary General Ahmed bin Hali said the Arab League has endorsed the decision because it reflects an international will to support the mission of the UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan and its keenness to implement the plan's detailed points to pave the way for launching a political process that achieves the reforms and aspirations of the Syrian people.
