A fire that broke out in north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region at noon Thursday continues to rage, with more than 500 firefighters struggling to put it out, local authorities said. The fire began on an area of grassland in Old Barag banner (county) in the city of Hulunbuir at about noon Thursday, Xinhua quoted municipal government officials as saying. Strong winds have made it difficult to fight the fire and it remains out of control as of 6 p.m. Thursday. More than 500 firefighters are battling the fire and more firefighters are on their way to the site, officials said. No casualties have been reported.
