Toxic Gas Leak Kills 2, Sickens 10 in East China

Two people died and 10 others were sickened due to a toxic gas leak at a pharmaceutical plant in east China's Anhui Province Wednesday night, local authorities said Thursday.
The accident happened at 7:40 p.m. at Zhongsheng Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd in Dongzhi county, Xinhua quoted the press office of the county committee of the Communist Party of China as saying in a statement.
It said the 10 sickened workers remained in hospital. The county police, environmental protection agency and work safety authority have launched a joint investigation.
