The UN Security Council condemned Friday the military-led coup that toppled the government in Guinea-Bissau and called for the return to power of the acting president and prime minister. The council president, US Ambassador Susan Rice, called on the international community to deal with the cycle of violence and impunity in Guinea-Bissau, according to DPA Rice said the council was keeping a close tab over the fast-evolving situation in the country and would address it at a later stage.
