A gunman wearing Afghan army uniform shot dead two British soldiers in the south of the country on Monday, while five Afghan security guards were killed elsewhere in a Taliban militants' ambush, officials said. According to dpa, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement that "an individual wearing an Afghan National Army uniform turned his weapon against ISAF service members," killing two of them. "The individual who opened fire was killed when coalition forces returned fire," it said. The British Defence Secretary Philip Hammond in London confirmed that the two soldiers killed were British. The incident took place early Monday in Lashkargah, the provincial capital of the southern province of Helmand.
