OIC Secretary General Meets Canadian Foreign Minister

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, met here today Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation, means of bolstering ties between OIC and Canada and the latest international developments, particularly the current situation in Syria.
The Secretary General welcomed Canada's intention to strengthen its relations with the OIC and Ottawa's keenness to explore areas of possible cooperation, including prospects of (Canada) assisting the development sector in less-developed member countries of the OIC.
