Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region, inaugurated here Tuesday evening SABIC Academy, in the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Vice Governor of Riyadh region. Upon arrival at the venue, Prince Sattam was received by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan, President of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Chairman of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and a number of the Corporation's officials. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prince Sattam said, "I congratulate SABIC on its initiative for establishing this Academy in implementation of the directives of our government aiming at paying attention for educating and training Saudi youths in accordance with the highest international standards. The numbers of public and private universities have been doubled to cover all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and foreign scholarship programs have included thousands of Saudi students pursuing their academic studies in most prominent universities around the world". For his part, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan said that the role of the Academy is not confined only for training and qualification of SABIC employees, but it also encompasses extension of services to all citizens.
