Envoys from the Middle East diplomatic Quartet are meeting Wednesday in Brussels in an effort to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, the U.S. State Department said Tuesday. Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters that envoys from the United Nations, the United States, the European Union (EU), and Russia would discuss Palestinian state-building efforts. According to Nuland, mediators also would lay the groundwork for a meeting in Washington next month between U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and top EU and Russian diplomats.
