Four skiers died on Monday after they were buried by an avalanche in northern Norway, while another was rescued and one remained missing, dpa quoted police as saying. Several hours after the avalanche, rescue workers were trying to dig out the missing skier from under the deep snow. They were part of a group of 12 skiing on Sorbmegaisa mountain near Kaafjord, in the northern county of Troms, when the avalanche occurred in the mid afternoon. A large rescue mission was launched, involving about 30 people, police spokesman Thorstein Skogvang said. The avalanche was about one-kilometre wide, the head of the rescue operation told broadcaster NRK.
