Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Amr discussed in a phone call on Friday with the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the latest Syrian developments and means of ending violence there. Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Amr Roshdy said that the two sides agreed on the importance of implementing the Arab initiative approved on January 22. Amr stressed in the call on ruling out a military solution to the crisis and the necessity to avoid any internationalization of the crisis, and to keep it within an Arab framework. Amr highlighted the significance of unifying the Syrian opposition in and out of Syria in order to act as an effective side in any resolution efforts, and to contribute to achieving the Syrian people's legitimate aspirations, according to a report of Qatar News Agency "QNA".
