Shoura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the care given to the Eighteenth Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, and his attendance of the opening of the conference today. In a press statement, the speaker highlighted support by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud for Arab parliamentary groupings. He added that "the coordination meeting of heads of legislative assemblies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia represented by the Shoura Council, has discussed coordination among the GCC countries.
