Faisal gave an account of the agenda of the meeting, citing the report submitted by the ad hoc expert-level panel assigned by the GCC summit to finding ways and steps to the implementation of the GCC 23rd summit decision welcoming the proposal submitted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to upgrade the GCC from the 32-year-phase of cooperation and coordination, into the horizons of union, integrity and tight linkage among the GCC member countries. Commenting on the proposal for union, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said it emanates from a firm belief that the current challenges facing us necessitate such a qualitative stride so that we could face them as a united bloc taking in mind that such a matter requires the completion of a number of aspects of cooperation and coordination among us and the exertion of every effort to eliminate whatever obstacles and difficulties before us, noting that the GCC has already made great strides over the last few decades since its inception, crystallizing as an organization with tangible effect on the lives of its people. --More
