A senior Lebanese security official said a French journalist who was wounded in Syria last week is receiving treatment in Beirut and is expected to fly home later Friday, AP reported. The official said Edith Bouvier was smuggled across the Lebanese-Syrian border and arrived at a Beirut hospital after midnight Thursday. She was wounded in a rocket attack during the Syrian troops' onslaught on a opposition stronghold in Homs. The attack killed two journalists and wounded two others. French President Nicolas Sarkozy said Bouvier and journalist William Daniels of France had been successfully smuggled into Lebanon. The Lebanese official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations, says a French plane is to take Bouvier home later Friday. He did not elaborate on Daniels' plans.
