Kuwait's permanent delegate to the Arab League Ambassador Jamal Mohammad Al-Ghanem has said his country is keen on promoting the process of Arab cooperation in all fields during its presidency of the 137th session of the League's Foreign Ministers' Council, which starts on March 10. "The League's Foreign Ministers' Council will convene a meeting on the permanent-delegate level on March 7 at the League's headquarters here," Al-Ghanem was quoted as saying by Kuwait's News Agency "KUNA". On top of the agenda of the coming session of the council are the preparations for the coming Arab Summit - due in Baghdad on March 29, the latest developments of the situations in the Palestinian territories - including Al-Quds (Jerusalem)-related issues and Israeli settlement expansions, the crisis in Syria, and the efforts to stabilize Sudan, Somalia and the Seychelles, he disclosed. Ambassador Al-Ghanem expressed Kuwait's pride in leading the Arab joint action through two key agencies, namely the League's Foreign Ministers' Council and the Arab Parliament, noting that this shows the League's confidence in Kuwait's potentials and status. Qatar will continue to act as presidency of the Arab ministerial committee on the Syrian crisis, formed by the council during its 136th session, until a solution is reached on the crisis, he added.
