based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has expressed its keenness to cooperate with India in the fields of Islamic banking and development of Waqf properties in India.
“We have 400,000 hectares of Waqf (Endowments) land in India and the IDB is willing to develop some of them,” said Khan.
A proposal to establish a Waqf development corporation is currently under serious consideration of the Indian government, said Khan. He pointed out that half of the Waqf properties can be developed into fruitful projects.
