JIZAN: A female AIDS patient who was in Sabya General Hospital for more than two months is awaiting the intervention of three government authorities in Jizan, the Passports Department, Police and Directorate of Health Affairs, to deport her or find her a place to live. Jibreel Al-Qabbi, spokesman for the Directorate of Health Affairs in Jizan, said the patient was admitted to Sabya General Hospital in August. He confirmed that reports indicate that she needs clinical care. While the legal resident, Hayat Ahmad, is struggling with AIDS, Sabya General Hospital, which returned her to her sister's home, is awaiting a reply from government authorities it informed about her condition, their search for treatment in an advanced center and the prospect of deporting her because efforts to treat her have been unsuccessful. According to the report, Ahmad suffers from AIDS and other diseases, the hospital provided all medical services for two months according to its capabilities and the patient needs care at home. Leena Ahmad, the patient's sister, refuted the hospital's story and stressed that the woman did not receive full treatment and was not officially discharged from the hospital. She added that the measure to release her was illegal. Hayat Ahmad is living in Jizan with her sister after her husband deserted her following the deterioration of her health. She had been selling a kind of local bread known as Lahouh, but disease has overwhelmed her and she is struggling with death every day, her sister said.
