Maritime workers in Argentina are intensifying a boycott of container ships carrying British goods, hoping to pressure Britain to negotiate with Argentina over the disputed Falkland Islands, which the Argentineans call the Malvinas. Britain says it will not discuss the sovereignty of the South Atlantic archipelago as long as the island residents want to remain British citizens. Argentinean maritime union leader Enrique Omar Suarez was meeting with other union leaders Wednesday to plan their next moves.
