Japan today reiterated its call on Damascus to immediately stop violence mounted on protesters and meet the conditions of the Arab initiative to solve the political crisis in the Arab country. In a press statement following talks with the Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabeel Al-Arabi, Japan's Middle East envoy Yotaka Emora said his discussions with the Arab League chief official dealt with the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis. Emora said the Middle East peace process faces a difficult situation. So, the Israeli government should be encouraged become more flexible, he said. He vowed his country's support for Egypt in the fields of political reforms, human resources and economic development.
