The Speakers of Legislative, National and Representatives Councils of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states held here today a coordination meeting chaired by the Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh on the sidelines of 7th meeting of the Parliamentary Union Conference of the member states of the Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the meeting, the agenda of 7th session of the meetings of Parliamentary Union Conference of the OIC was discussed. Meanwhile, the speakers of Arab Parliamentary Group in OIC held here today a coordination meeting where Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh participated in the meeting. During the meeting, they discussed agenda of the conference. President Benigno Aquino III of The Philippines will open here tomorrow the 7th session of the Parliamentary Union Conference of OIC member countries. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh leads his country's delegation to the conference. The conference will discuss parliamentary, political, economic and social issues concerning Islamic countries and peoples as well as the role of Islamic parliaments in enhancing democracy, justice and peace. The GCC group is set to present the candidature of Dr. Mohammed bin Saad Al-Salem, member of the Saudi Shura Council, to the post of Member of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Union Conference for the term from 2012-2013 during tomorrow's session. They will also nominate Dr. Abdullah bin Muhareb Al-Dhafeeri, member of the Saudi Shura Council, as Member of the Standing Specialized Committee for Cultural and Legal Affairs and Dialogue Among Religions and Civilizations of the Parliamentary Union Conference.
