The Jordanian Lower House's Palestine Committee on Tuesday strongly condemned Israel's arrest of Palestine Legislative Council Speaker Aziz Dweik and called for his immediate release. "The committee considers this action, which is condemnable by all heavenly faiths and international laws, as a manifestation of Israel's total disregard of the Palestinians' right to self determination and disrespect of their elected representatives," said the panel's chairman, deputy Abdul Qader Habashneh of Karak. The committee called on all world parliaments and elected grassroots organizations to condemn "this irresponsible" act and immediately set Dweik free.
