Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Petroleum Affairs and Chairman of the Team Concerning with Issues of Subsidy and Dumping, announced today that the European Commission has issued two resolutions ending the cases of dumping and subsidy filed by the European Commission against the Kingdom's exports of a polyethylene Trevthalat product including a case of dumping filed against SABIC Company, and a case of subsidy against the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said, "The European Commission has accepted a request to withdraw the cases from the companies that filed them through the Association of Product Manufacturers in Europe, after having discovered that the end of the two cases does not harm the interests of the European Union in accordance with the procedures in force in the European Commission." The Prince noted that the European Commission opened two investigations simultaneously in mid-February, in the two cases filed by the Association, indicating that a royal order was issued to form the Team under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and the membership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Finance, to negotiate with the States concerned in cases of dumping and subsidy pertaining to Saudi Petrochemical exports. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz added that the Team has contacted the European Commission and the Governments of the European Union, to clarify the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards these issues, and to emphasize that what the Government of the Kingdom has done of practices to subsidize local industry is in accord with the regulations of World Trade Organization, expressing his thanks to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi for his support for the Team's efforts.
