The head of the Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi, was to arrive in Baghdad on Thursday for talks with senior Iraqi officials on the neighbouring Syria, dpa quoted local media as saying. "This visit is very important because Iraq is one of the founding members of the Arab League and has been playing a major role since the League's creation," al-Arabi told the pro-government newspaper Al Sabah in remarks published Thursday. He added that his talks in Iraq would cover regional issues, mainly Syria.
