Vehicle Pileup Near Istanbul

A state-run Turkish news agency says an 80-vehicle pileup on a highway near Istanbul has left one person dead and 29 injured. A Japanese national was among those hurt.
The Anadolu Agency says the accident happened Saturday morning near the town of Buyukcekmece, west of Istanbul. It says the weather was foggy and that ice might have triggered the pileup.
It says the person who died was a 42-year-old man. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
