Pilots of the Spanish airline Iberia are to go on strike in December to protest the creation of a low-cost Iberia subsidiary, dpa quoted the trade union Sepla as saying Tuesday. The union did not give the dates of the strike. It was trying to get cabin personnel and other Iberia staff to join its protest against the creation of Iberia Express, which is due to be launched in April 2012. Iberia wants the subsidiary to cover national and European routes, so that the mother company can focus on lucrative trans-Atlantic flights.
