AlHijjah 28, 1432, Nov 24, 2011, SPA -- The Extraordinary Arab Foreign Ministers meeting scheduled to discuss the situation in Syria started in Cairo today under the chairmanship of Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani. Syria, whose membership to the Arab League (AL) was suspended by the AL, is absent of the meeting. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his country's delegation to the meeting. The extraordinary session of Arab Foreign Ministers Council will discuss the latest developments at the Syrian arena, in the light of the Arab initiative launched in this respect. Arab League Secretary General Nabeel Alarabi will present a report on the Syrian reply to his request to the Syrian government to provide security to his people and monitoring missions.
