AlHijjah 20, 1432, Nov 16, 2011, SPA -- The British military says one of its soldiers has been killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, as AP reported. The Ministry of Defense said the soldier from 2nd Battalion The Rifles died Wednesday while providing security in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province. The ministry says the soldier's death brings to 386 the number of British military personnel killed in Afghanistan since the start of operations there in 2001. The soldier wasn't identified by name, although the military said his family had been informed.
