AlHijjah 18, 1432, Nov 14, 2011, SPA - The United States Military announced here on Monday that it has withdrawn 1,500 soldiers from South of Iraq in preparation to hand over a military air base to the Iraqi authorities by the end of November. The US Military said in a statement that the 3rd Brigade of the 1st Knights Division withdrew 1,500 of its soldiers and more than 2,000 pieces of war materials from the area, adding that the withdrawal is part of the commitment to the security agreements between Baghdad and Washington calling on all US forces to depart Iraq before December 31, according to a report of Kuwaiti News Agency "KUNA".
