AlHijjah 16, 1432, Nov 12, 2011, SPA - Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev was officially confirmed on Saturday as the winner of Kyrgyzstan's presidential election, securing nearly 63 percent of the Oct. 30 vote. Atambayev won an outright majority. Adakhan Madumarov, leader of the Butun Kyrgyzstan party, won a close-run race for second place. He polled 14.8 percent to edge out third-placed Kamchibek Tashiyev, with 14.3 percent, Reuters reported. None of the other 13 candidates polled more than 1 percent of the vote. The Central Election Commission announced the following final results on Saturday for the following three major candidates: Candidate Percentage of the vote 1. Almazbek Atambayev 62.52 2. Adakhan Madumarov 14.78 3. Kamchibek Tashiyev 14.32 \ Total number of registered voters: 3.03 million. Total number of voters who cast their ballot: 1.86 million (61.28 percent turnout).
