AlHijjah 14, 1432, Nov 10, 2011, SPA -- Three Afghan policemen were killed and two injured Thursday when a group of militants attacked a district government office in south-eastern Afghanistan, dpa quoted a government spokesman as saying. The attack, in the Samakani district of Paktia province, was carried out by four militants, said Rohullah Samoon, a spokesman for the provincial governor. "A suicide bomber blew himself up in the gate of the district headquarters while three other attackers tried to enter the compound," he said, adding that police killed three of the attackers in a short battle. "Three policemen were martyred and two others, including the district police chief, were wounded in the fight." Samoon said the attack had targeted the district governor, alongside other officials, but added that the governor was unhurt.
