AlHijjah 8, 1432, Nov 4, 2011, SPA -- Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region, announced the success of pilgrims-ascending-to-Mina plan without any incident of concern. In a press conference here today, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal said most of pilgrims were ascended to Mina plain to stay the pre-Arafat (Tarwiyah) day as per the practice of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) when he performed Hajj. In a cable to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal congratulated the monarch on the success of the plan to guide the pilgrims to Mina from Makkah where they attended Tawaf Al-Godoom, the greeting of the House of God, the first ritual on the arrival in the holy capital. According to figures, this year's pilgrims number reached more than 1,830,000 and more than 3600 cars were barred from entering the sacred places as their passengers have violated Hajj entry regulations.
